Launch 25 – Sloth Scrapper Asteroid Grabber – II

Sloth Scrapper Asteroid Grabber – II
Mass: 396.6
Cost: 150,704
Class: Asteroid Grabber
Crew: Mumbro and Burdard Kerman

Once news of the asteroid rendezvous hit Kerbal we sent out a second ship in hopes of finding a smaller much more capture-able rock.

That excitement quickly faded when the launched ship failed to meet up with the rock that flew close to kerbal.

Launch 24 – Electrical Add On

Electrical Add On
Mass: 109.900
Cost: 37,976
Class: Ship Addition
Crew: None

So that last launch, launch number 23. Had one thing missing. Once the ship was in orbit we realized it was missing a lot of battery power. In fact it had no power attached to it at all. So we made a quick little satellite, docked it to the Sloth Scrapper and then did the asteroid mission.

Launch 23 – Sloth Scraper Asteroid Grabber

Sloth Scraper Asteroid Grabber
Mass: 334.459
Cost: 131,323
Class: Asteroid Redirect Ship
Crew: Tedrim and Maya Kerman

Have you ever bitten off more than you could chew? Well we did at S.S.A.

After finally making contact with the Class E asteroid and grabbing it with the claw, we noticed that with the remaining fuel we could only slow said asteroid down by 2m/s which is practically nothing.

On the plus side we got to touch an asteroid.

Launch 22 – Deep Dish Communication Satellite

Deep Dish Communication Satellite
Mass: 245.470
Cost: 80,513
Class: Communication Satellite
Crew: None

With the right Asteroid scanner set up for Kerbin, the last thing on the checklist was a Long Range ‘Deep Dish’ Communication Satellite.

This now orbits Kerbin in a polar orbit close to the same distance as our Geo Sat’s 2,885KM

Launch 21 – Rock Scanning Machine

Rock Scanning Machine
Mass: 71.655
Cost: 31,902
Class: Asteroid Scanner
Crew: None

We need to catch us a asteroid. This is the first step.

Once the Scanner was in place around Kerbol we lost communication with it. We need to set up a larger communication dish to talk to our scanner.

Launch 20 – LKO Kerbal Retrieval Unit – III

LKO Kerbal Retrieval Unit – III
Mass: 108.463
Cost: 40,542
Class: LKO Kerbal Pickup
Crew: None, until two

Finally we have brought back two Kerbals from the Mun. Along with them came some rocks we can analyze.

Launch 19 – LKO Kerbal Retrieval Unit – II

LKO Kerbal Retrieval Unit – II
Mass: 77.107
Cost: 31,678
Class: LKO Kerbal Pickup
Crew: None, until two

Sometimes when you go too cheap it doesn’t work.

At about 15KM above the surface of Kerbin a odd guest of wind blew by and the rickety rocket kind of fell over. Resulting in a lot of lost delta-V.

This rocket ended up being just a test landing vessle.

Launch 18 – Mun Lander V

Mun Lander V
Mass: 334.466
Cost: 107,286
Class: Mun Lander
Crew: None, until two

Go get that Mun rock!

This mission we landed on the Mun, grabbed a pilot from the Farside Crater base, grabbed some rock bits from the crater, and then hopped on the ship, docked with the space station. Picked up the second pilot aboard the station and flew home.

Now it’s time to grab the two pilots, the mun rocks, and bring them home.

Launch 17 – Polar Mun Com

Polar Mun Com
Mass: 73.144
Cost: 32,295
Class: Communication Satellite
Crew: None

This mission was an attempt to knock out the last few active contracts we have, make a couple bucks and take some obligations of the shoulders of S.S.A.

We were able to do it insanely cheap, and now we have some extra bandwidth around the Mun.

Launch 16 – Mun Lander IV

Mun Lander IV
Mass: 213.225
Cost: 72,212
Class: Space Station Part
Crew: Bobbie Kerman

We wanted to send a landing piece for the Luma Station but it didn’t even leave the launch pad. Our first true disaster at the launch site.
